SPEAKER OVERVIEW
Stephen Douglass is the Chief Impact Officer and Founder of Young Impact. He learned first-hand about the challenges of tackling community issues through enterprise. In high school, the tragic death of a friend, a casualty of underage drinking, inspired him to rally his community and help launch a teen center that endured as a staple of the community for 10 years. He has since inspired thousands to activate ideas and their communities by utilizing entrepreneurial approaches to opportunity recognition, problem solving, and enterprise development.
Stephen's talent and passion for leading students and professionals through the process of turning their interests into viable primary and secondary career paths is renowned. His background as a former All-American athlete (jock), MBA candidate (nerd), professional breakdancer (B-boy), and spoken word poet helps him to transcend traditional barriers. Stephen brings a broad range of real-world expertise and perspective to Young Impact. Prior to launching the company, he worked with leading middle-market ($50-$500 million in revenue) telecommunication and technology company executives, advising them on merger and acquisition and capital raising strategies. He also has experience helping to turn around distressed businesses and arranging debt and equity financing for start-up companies seeking to launch and expand into emerging markets.

WORKSHOPS OVERVIEW
Workshops drive collective insight and self-discovery by integrating exercises and collaborative training with real-world situations. Whether participants are students and stakeholders, citizens and community members, or employees and executives, YI’s field-tested and battle-hardened expert instruction and facilitation delivers dynamic, action-inducing outcomes.
Prepare your Campus, Community, and Company to walk away with more than a blazé laundry list of action-items and typical “getting to know you” ice breakers. Dig deeper with YI’s customized and signature workshops:
Firestarters: Activating Next-Generation Changemakers
Mobilize, harness, and power the next generation of young innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers on your Campus, in your Community, and within your Company.
Unleashing Beasts & Awakening Sleeping Giant
Rejuvenate your leadership, management, and employees and revitalize participants’ desire to perspire.
How to Land "That" Job
Young Impact’s founder, Stephen Douglass, had to land a cut-throat six-figure job out of college. Ironically, he did this after admitting he was “woefully under-qualified and clearly not the ideal candidate for the position” in the interview. In a brutally honest, and most entertaining, recount of events, participants learn how to utilize honesty, ambition, and a smart work ethic to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to achieve highly unlikely outcomes. If you are looking to create your competitive edge in the job marketplace (or launch a new startup venture, of course), this is for you. Learn how to craft and articulate your unforgettable story, conquer the secret "Scranton Test," integrate "peacocking," and much more!
Seriously Start Something
Participants explore personal strengths and opportunities for improvement through the startup venture process, what it's really like to bootstrap a startup venture, and to create something from nothing using your limited resources.
Everyone A Gymnast: Prepared to Achieve
Gymnastics is the World’s Most Difficult Sport. Each apparatus trains athletes to excel at life’s most challenging events. Everyone has their own "gymnastics"--that is, a unique gift that becomes a lens through which you understand how the world works. Learn to leverage your experiences to think, move, and "be" a gymnast from Stephen Douglass, a former elite All-American athlete and NCAA Division 1 Team Captain. Develop the strength, flexibility, and balance necessary to succeed in and out of your life's gym. Just make sure you are cleared by your doctor! Just kidding, well, kind of.
Never Let School Get in the Way of Your Education
Using (instead of suppressing) teens' wonderfully rebellious nature, this workshop helps teenagers apply classroom education to solving larger community and global issues. Learn about WACK, the Weighted Average Cost of Knowledge, and how to use other simple, yet vital principles that students typically don't learn until college, to identify opportunities and make the best personal life decisions possible.
